Kübra Tutkun Akdeniz

Kübra Tutkun Akdeniz is working towards her doctorate in the lab. Her thesis tests liquid microbial formulations that combine arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, applied to wheat as a seed treatment, and follows both what they do for growth and nutrition and how the plants then respond to abiotic stress.

She came to the subject from soilless production: she supported R&D work in that field, worked as plant science lead at Vahaa Dikey Tarım Teknolojileri, and widened her growing experience with work on duckweed (Lemna sp.). Her master’s work was on controlling biofilms of thermophilic bacteria in the dairy industry by natural means. Her doctoral work is supported by a TÜBİTAK 2211-C scholarship.
