Our TÜBİTAK 1003 project on mycorrhiza and bacteria consortia from domestic isolates is accepted

Under the 1003 Agricultural Research Joint Call opened by TÜBİTAK and the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM), the project we prepared with Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) and the Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute has been accepted. It is titled “Building Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungus and Bacteria Consortia from Domestic Isolates, Developing Their Solid and Liquid Formulations and Investigating Their Effectiveness as Microbial Fertilizers”.

The project is managed by Dr. Dilek Kaya Özdoğan, with Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman as principal investigator and Asst. Prof. Bahar Yıldız Kutman and Prof. Dr. Murat Doğru as researchers. Beneficial microorganisms isolated from different regions of Türkiye will be brought together for the first time in consortia of both mycorrhizal fungi and bacteria, to develop microbial fertilizers that reduce plants’ need for mineral fertilizer and raise their stress resistance.
