Our research assistant Rıfat Buğra Bildiri wins the best oral presentation award at CSRW26

Rıfat Buğra Bildiri, a research assistant and PhD student in our lab, won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2nd International Conference on Circularity, Sustainability and Resilience in Water, Wastewater and Sludge Management (CSRW26). The conference was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 29 March to 1 April 2026 and brought together more than 100 participants from a range of countries.

Bildiri presented his study on the effect of duckweed on mineral removal from agricultural wastewater. His results show that wastewater from commercial-scale greenhouse and vertical farming facilities provides a potential growth medium for duckweed. In his talk he stressed that using the minerals in agricultural wastewater within biological systems, in a circular approach, matters for both financial and environmental sustainability.
